The layering system in 3-steps

A. Base layer

Wear your base layer directly against your skin. Its main job is to wick away sweat and moisture to keep you dry. Prioritize merino wool or synthetic fabrics with flat seams or even no seams at all for optimal comfort. The base layer should be snug but not restrictive.

 B. Mid layer

This insulating layer retains body heat while continuing to wick moisture outward. It should fit comfortably over your base layer without limiting your range of motion. Depending on your needs, choose either down or synthetic insulation.

 C. Outer layer

This final layer protects you from the elements like wind, rain, and snow. Once you’ve added your outer shell over the other layers, you should be ready to head out. Look for a shell made from waterproof and breathable fabric like Gore-Tex.
