6 minutes
Even though fall is drawing to a close, there's still time to enjoy the last sunny days in the mountains. So, what could be better than enjoying hiking trails with your faithful four-legged companion while discovering the beauty of Quebec's nature? Here are four trails to discover across the province where dogs are welcome.

The Chouenne Trail, Grands-Jardins National Park

About 120 km from Quebec City, in the Grand-Jardins National Park, is the Chouenne trail. This intermediate trail, 4.8 km long, allows you to discover the beauty of the taiga, a boreal landscape. Take this trail for a 2-hour ascent with your four-legged hiker by your side to reach the summit at an altitude of 730 m. You can enjoy the view overlooking the valley and the facade of Mont Gros-Bras.

The Pic-Champlain Trail, Bic National Park

The Pic-Champlain trail allows you to do a superb intermediate hike while admiring the St. Lawrence Estuary and the Appalachian landscape. During the ascent to the Belvédère, you can observe the unique nature and rare plants that you will find along the way. The summit of this 6 km trail is the ideal place to enjoy the sunset and have a picnic with your faithful four-legged companion.

The Étang-Fer-de-Lance trail, Mont-Orford National Park

Near Montreal, enjoy a pleasant 1 hour 15 minute hike through the Étang-Fer-de-Lance trail located in Mont-Orford National Park. This easy, family-friendly 3.5 km hike offers the opportunity to reach a viewpoint with a superb panorama of Étang Fer-de-Lance and the Mont-Orford massif. It is possible to observe the life that this natural environment shelters, including beavers, ospreys, and ducks, which often show their faces to offer a show to hikers. It's an ideal trail to introduce your dog to hiking!

Mount Kaaikop, Interval Outdoor Base

Conquer Mount Kaaikop, the third highest mountain in the Laurentians, accompanied by your four-legged hiker. This difficult trail with rocky and steep terrain, aimed at the bravest, offers two ways up: a long 11.8 km loop or a shorter 5.6 km out-and-back. Equip yourself with a good pair of boots and all the necessary equipment for you and your dog to reach the summit and enjoy the panoramic view.
